Commercial Superintendent

FPI Builders, LLC, a General Commercial Contractor in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area is looking for a seasoned Superintendent with 10-15 years of commercial experience supervising projects in the $2m-$15m range. We want our candidate to have a solid foundation in planning, coordination, and supervision on commercial projects, a focus on creating value for our customer thru quality workmanship, and a dedication to project completion within the timeframe and budget constraints. Proven experience communicating with trade partners daily thru LEAN Practices and Culture, as well as safety requirements, is a must. Multi-tasking, problem-solving, and well versed using an iPad in the field will serve you well at FPI Builders. As a representative of our company, and a point of contact with our Owners, Architects and Engineers, we expect you to be personable and professional.

Requirements:

  • Must be a LEAN practitioner – hands-on, working knowledge of LEAN Tools, Practices, and Culture is a must
  • You must have working experience with Last Planner System, Pre-Pull and Phase Pull Sessions, and Daily Huddles, and be able to effectively facilitate these activities
  • You must be OSHA 30 Certified
  • 10-15 years’ experience as a commercial superintendent
  • Prior work history of simple remodel or buildout, to ground-up projects
  • Steel frame, ICF, tilt-wall knowledge
  • Must be able to read digital plans on an iPad (your company iPad will be with you at all times on our projects)
  • You must be focused on worker and Jobsite safety – there is zero-tolerance for unsafe people or conditions
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive in your approach to the project
  • Must be proficient in BIM 360, Bluebeam, Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Be able to set up, initialize and run a Zoom meeting
  • Understand Trade Partners scope of work
    Read and understand job specifications
  • Install and maintain all necessary permitting on-site – local authority permitting, SWPPP, etc.
  • Review and understand all submittals and shop drawings
  • Maintain a digital, progressive set of as-built drawings
  • Attend and facilitate Daily Huddles with trade partners, as well as bi-weekly OAC meetings
  • Compile digital punch list thru BIM360 app…maintain, review, and closeout as completed
  • Complete Daily Reports with updated pictures/video, complete safety checklists as required by Safety Director, maintain updated 2 Week Lookahead, maintain daily Safety Goal Cross

Skilled Laborer

We are seeking a candidate who is skilled in numerous fields of construction such as rough carpentry, concrete work, inventory of materials, and general house cleaning, etc. Required tasks may change daily. The ability to switch between tasks without extensive training is key. Candidates must be team players who are able to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains cleanliness of job site
  • Assists with various construction-related tasks
  • Lubricates, cleans, fuels, and oversees the operation of equipment
  • Operates a variety of hand and power tools
  • Organizes and maintains job site trailers, trucks, and gang boxes
  • Inspects all returned tools and equipment at the end of each day for damages
  • Understands and follows OSHA safety policies and applicable laws

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years in a Construction environment
  • Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies used on commercial construction projects
  • Possess a high level of safety awareness and mechanical aptitude and exercise sound decision-making
  • Work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • Meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
  • Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere.
